BUFORA were contacted by a young and seemingly enthusiastic chap named Nathan Gilbert concerning a ufological enquiry recently, and as I happened to be in the office at the time, I addressed his enquiry myself. It isn't uncommon for the organisation to receive mail from young people, though generally their sundry requests and enquires are based upon a desire to learn more about the enigma rather than specific information and once they've been pointed in the required direction, we seldom hear from them thereafter. Young Mr.Gilbert, however, not only came back with further requests for specific information...he also announced the fact that he had his own web site! Nathan it would appear, was more than 'seemingly' enthusiastic...he was decidedly and seriously so!

The next step then, was to take a peek at our potential young colleagues web site and see exactly what he was up to. We had already covered the fact that Nathan was a confirmed ETH'er during our various exchanges, so I was to a degree already primed in relation to what I expected to find waiting at 'UK-UFO'.

I was, however, delighted to find that my preconceived notions were seriously wide of the mark. What I found both surprised and impressed me considerably, and induced a modest sense of guilt for pre-judging Nathan's efforts before I'd set eyes on his handy work. Here's a Young Man who could quite easily dish out a little lesson to many a seasoned ufologist and web site owner alike by virtue of the fact that he makes no bones about what side of the fence his site is on, whilst at the same time announcing that he intends to take a broader approach to the enigma.

BUFORA have never adopted or encouraged belief systems one way or the other during its career, choosing instead to adopt scientific principals in relation to investigative work. Such a basis precluded us from accepting Nathan's generous offer to exchange site 'links'. What it doesn't and won't preclude, however, is our active co-operation and encouragement of this ufological 'young gun' to continue growing and developing his own particular 'ufology' within the movement.

If this site indeed represents the potential standards of Nathan's particular ufology, then I can only hope that he indeed stays the distance and equally develops his 'broader' perspective whilst exploring his own personal agenda.

BUFORA look forward to 'doing some business' with Nathan in the future, and I'm sure we're not alone in wishing him the best of luck as he embarks upon his journey with the rest of us through the bizarre world of ufology!
